Clachan Fair

The Clachan Fair - Dalry’s week of celebration is held biennially in the second week in June with 7 days packed full of activities for all the family culminating, on the Saturday with the Clachan Fair Day Parade of decorated lorries traditionally led off by the Galloway Pipes and Drums Band followed by the Dalry Lad and Lass.

The history of the Clachan Fair stretches back into the last century, when lambs not fit for market were sold in the village and the proceeds distributed amongst the poor of the parish.

Events continue throughout the week with a games night, whist drive, Quiz night, target bowls competition and a fly fishing competition. There is usually a pet show and barbecue at Newfield Farm and finally on the last Saturday,  a Scottish Night with music from local musicians and artists.

Details of the next Clachan Fair will follow shortly.
